Award-winning Holocaust author, Julian Padowicz will address the Senior Men’s Club of New Canaan at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 18, in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Church.
Padowicz is the author of a projected three-part memoir of his World War II experiences as a Jewish boy who escaped with his mother from the Nazis. The story which includes an 11 hour trek through the Carpathian Mountains, has been characterized by one editor as, “part Anne Frank, part The Great Escape, and part Marx Brothers.”
Padowicz’s talk, entitled A Streetcar Named Eternity, will cover his first two books, “Mother and Me: Escape From Warsaw 1939” and “A Ship In The Harbor.”
Padowicz, a Stamford resident and now retired from over 30 years as a documentary filmmaker, spends his time writing.
