Good Earth reception is Sunday

The Darien Nature Center announces the arrival of a exhibit entitled “The Good Earth” featuring artwork from found materials, crafted by area artists, students and artisans including one New Canaan artist.

Constance Old is one of the participants in the exhibit which will be opened with a reception at the center on Sunday, January 24 from 3 to 5 p.m.

According to Lynn Hamlen, Executive Director of the Darien Nature Center and exhibit organizer, “over the generations man has turned to materials found in nature as inspiration for cultural and artistic expression. It's comforting to know that today, in our hectic high-tech world, there are individuals who still work in “found” materials, many inspired by natural elements.

The exhibition will be on display through March 20. The Darien Nature Center is located at 120 Brookside Road, Darien. For further information call 203-655-7459.
