New Canaan-based adventurer and author Jeff Blumenfeld will present “You Want to Go Where?” at an Appalachian Mountain Club meeting in Bethel Tuesday, February 9.
In his audio visual presentation, Blumenfeld will share pictures and stories of some explorers he has worked with for 35 years. Stories include the individual who dog sled to the North Pole, climbed the tallest United States peaks in record time, climbed Antarctic mountains and hit golf balls across Mongolia. He will also discuss how they organized these adventures and found sponsors to help finance them.
Blumenfeld is editor and publisher of Expedition News, an insider’s guide to the business of adventure marketing. A member of the Explorers Club and American Alpine Club, he is also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in London.
Members and non-members are welcome to attend the event, and wine, cheese, appetizers, coffee and dessert will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by presentation at 7:30 p.m. The event is $6 for members and $8 for non-members.
