The New Canaan Outback’s 12th annual “March Madness Hoops” basketball game, set for March 23 at New Canaan High School, will feature the famous Harlem Rockets. The event is being sponsored by a number of local businesses and services.
The grand sponsor is Brown Thayer Shedd insurance company. “All-American” sponsors include Hersam Acorn Newspapers and TD Bank; “All-State” sponsors include BlueStreak and Joe’s Pizzeria.
Other community sponsors are Grid Iron Capital, Gelatissimo, Fitness Together, Bobby Valentine’s Sports Academy, Dunkin’ Donuts, MacKenzie’s, Bright Ideas Tutoring LLC, New Canaan Cleaners, Drenckhahn Excavating, Inc., and Camp Playland.Hoops 2010 will feature door prizes drawn every quarter of the game, such as an iPod Touch. Items have been donated by local merchants such as BlueStreak and Bobby Valentine’s Sports Academy.
Pizza from Joe’s Pizzeria will be offered at $1 per slice, and drinks have been donated by the National Charity League. Members of the Service League of Boys and the Young Women’s League will be assisting with the snacks.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and game time is 7. Tickets are $10 per person, or $25 for a family of three or more, and may be purchased in advance at Bob’s Sports or at the Outback Teen Center. For more information, visit ncoutbacktc.com.
