Jewish Family Service of Stamford, New Canaan and Darien is hosting college admissions deans at the Stamford Jewish Community Center, 1035 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 22, for a presentation of the annual College Ahead! evening program to area parents and teens.The program will highlight the college planning process as it relates to the changing economic climate, as well as the changes in policy regarding standardized college tests. Additional topics include the importance of volunteer activities; pursuing hobbies or other interests; taking part in the life of the applicant’s high school; enrollment in honors courses, and how to use summers wisely.
Admissions deans scheduled to appear are Carol A Rowlands from Lafayette College; James S. Zielinski from Beloit College; Delsie Z. Phillips of Lynn University, and Nancy Pullen from Rutgers University.
College Ahead! has been sponsored by Jewish Family Service for more than 20 years for high school students and their parents. There is no fee and no reservation needed to attend. The public in invited.
