Kids’ book author offers moms advice

Ring’s End Lumber will host a free “Morning for Moms” seminar with Carolyn White of New Canaan, former owner of the children’s book store DandyTales. She will share reading recommendations for children from preschool through middle school, and tips for why and how parents should be involved in the children’s reading.

The event, at the Ring’s End at 149 Westport Avenue, Norwalk, will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, May 11.

White will read a story to preschoolers and discuss cautions parents should take with the material their kids read. She will also discuss recommendations for children with language processing issues.

Rita T, a color consultant, will also describe how to create a space that encourages children to read.
