Harold Henry Brown

Harold Henry Brown of Tomball, Texas, formerly of New Canaan, died October 20. He was 89.

Mr. Brown was born October 20, 1920, in Jersey City, N.J., to Edwin and Minnie Thomas Brown. He was a decorated World War II veteran, having served as an officer in the United States Army. Mr. Brown fought with the 34th infantry “Red Bull” division in Italy in 1944, at the battle of Anzio, which was the turning point for the allies in winning the war. Mr. Brown earned three Purple Hearts and was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery in the face of the enemy. The Bronze Star is the fourth highest combat medal given by the armed forces.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Brown, and his sisters Shirley Heiss and Doris Heister.

He is survived by his sons: Hal Brown and his wife, Debbie, Wayne Brown and his wife, Linda, Gary Brown and his wife, Stacey; his daughter Pam Mims and her husband, George; his grandchildren: Katie, Tisha, Tara, Jason, Marissa, Tonya, Christine, Thomas and David Brown, and Cole and Clint Johnson; and his great-grandchildren: Grayson, Ava, Elle, Cole and Sage.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, October 30, at Klein Funeral Chapel, Tomball, with the Rev. Marc Donaldson officiating.
