Robert Walter Eason

Robert Walter Eason of Westfield, N.J., father of New Canaan resident Robert J. Eason, died on Wednesday, October 21. He was 89.

Born on August 24, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Eason lived in Westfield for the past 57 years. He was a graduate of Pace University and had a long career as a certified public accountant with Peat Marwick Mitchell (KPMG). He retired in 1980 as a senior partner.

Mr. Eason was a “devoted father, husband and son, and a man of unwavering integrity,” family members said.

He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn, and his youngest son James D. Eason.

In addition to his son in New Canaan, Mr. Eason is survived by his children, William R. Eason of Smyrna, Ga., Jean Reichard of Plano, Texas, Carol Willersdorf of Randolph, N.J., and Beverly Eason of Westfield. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation was October 25 at Gray Funeral in Westfield. A memorial service was held there on October 26.
