The last touchdown of the half coming on a 37-yard pass from Baty to senior co-captain Cody Newton.
In the third quarter, senior co-captain Willie Ouellette had a 9-yard touchdown reception, and Newton finished off the scoring with a 44-yard TD catch in the fourth quarter.Baty’s 383 yards passing was the second highest single-game total in NCHS history, trailing only Kurt Horton’s 599-yard game in 1970, a mark which is the Connecticut State record. Baty has 1,110 yards passing and 11 TDs in New Canaan’s last three games. He also ran seven times for 57 yards versus Wilton.
Newton also continued to shine with six catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns. His four-game total is 30 catches for 601 yards and five TDs.
Junior Kevin Macari caught five passes for 120 yards and a touchdown, senior Peter Park had three catches for 36 yards and a TD, and Ouellette had two catches for 18 yards and a TD.
The victory kept the Rams in line for a berth in the FCIAC final, although the final two steps could be the toughest to take, with road games against Greenwich (5-1) and Bridgeport Central (5-1) on deck the next two weeks.
