Registration dates have been set for the 2009 Holiday Toy and Adopt a Family program sponsored by Sterling House Community Center.
Executive Director Louis D. Perno said the program is for Stratford residents in the low-to-moderate income brackets and who are in need of assistance with holiday toys and gifts.Because of limited resources, persons who have participated in the program for the last three or more years will not be eligible to take part this year, Perno said.
“We are making every effort to reach out to those families who are truly in need,” Perno said. “We are limited in the number of families whom we can accommodate, so, it will be on a first-come, first-served basis.”
Registration will be taken Thursday, Nov. 5, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the South End Community Center, 29 Bates St., and Saturday, Nov. 7, from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at Sterling House, 2283 Main St. Applicants must provide a birth certificate for all children 15 years and under, proof of guardianship, verification of income and address, and photo identification.
