Jacqueline DeCava won first place in the adult division of “Stratford Through My Eyes” for her entry “Autumn at Longbrook Park.”
Brook Fennel took first in the children’s division of the photo contest, sponsored by the Stratford Community Fund, for “Mother Deer and Her Fawn in Yard on Main Street.”
Winners were honored during a recent ceremony at Sterling House.Winning and honorable mention entries are on display at Milford Bank in Stratford Center through Dec. 12.
Richard Kunsch for took second among adults for “Perspective - Boothe Park.” Third place went to Genevieve Shulick for “Watercolor — North Park (Wigwam Pond.)”
Honorable mentions in the adult category went to John Burgeson for “Heinkel German Bomber at Sikorsky Air Show, 1998;” Jacqueline Partridge for “Lordship Cottages at Sunset;” Michele Pia for “Great Pumpkin Festival — Boothe Park;” Ann Stockman for “Short Beach Golf Hole #9;” Karen Biebel Sutera for “Short Beach,” and Linda Pepin for “Tranquility.”
Josephine Evan took second in the children’s division for “Main Street, Lamp Post and Flags.” Third place went to Sean Meisel for “Summer Reading.”
Sponsors included Milford Bank at Stratford Center, David Burs, Curt Farrison, Colonial Square Art Shop, Hot Shots Photolabs, Shell Station Restaurant/Sushi Bar, Square One Theatre Company and Sterling House Community Center.
Judges were Roger Salls of Roger Salls Photography, Ned Gerard of The Connecticut Post and Tracy A. Deer-Mirek, communications director at Sacred Heart University.
The contest, which this year was expanded to include entries by children up to eighth grade, drew 62 submitted photos, according to Stratford Community Fund President Bill O’Brien and photo contest chairman Paul Reslink.
The Stratford Community Fund, which started in 1993, is a non-profit charitable organization that honors and recognizes people in the community for volunteer service, fosters intellectual and creative development and supports efforts to improve the town’s physical appearance.
