Farrington on top, booters both win

Joey Farrington captured first with a time of 17:36 over the 3.1 mile Roosevelt Forest course when the Bulldogs defeated Notre Dame and Oxford and lost to Brookfield.

 

Bruce Berkeley (17:40) was third and Nick Hull (18:22) fourth.

Hull ran a 17:54 over the 3.0-mile course at Immaculate-Danbury to lead Bunnell to a 24-31 victory over the Mustangs on Sept. 15.

Berkeley (18:02) was second and Farrington (18:31) fourth for the Bulldogs.

Evan Szuch (19:54) was eighth and Ha’jun Kim (19:58) ninth.

Bunnell swim

Meghan Condon won the 100 backstroke, Marybeth Condon took first in the 100 breaststroke, team depth, and winning 400 freestyle relay team carried the Lady Bulldogs to a 95-71 victory over New Milford at Flood Middle School on Sept. 16.

Sally Finch, Victoria Sanpietro and Kelly Fiyzpatrick followed Meghan Condon into the water in the 400 for a winning time of 4:22.57.

Stratford boys soccer

Mike Cody scored and Elliott Griffin earned the assist when Jason Potter had three saves to post a 1-0 shutout over Immaculate High on Oct. 26.

Nahun Turciuo found the back of the net for the Red Devils in a 3-1 loss to Kolbe Cathedral (7-6-1) on Oct. 23.

Griffin had the assist for Stratford (3-9-2) and Potter made six saves.

Potter made 20 saves when the Red Devils played New Fairfield (7-3-1) to a scoreless draw on Oct. 19.

Bunnell boys soccer

Zach Zurita scored twice and Isaias Montalvo and Colin Bitsco also found the back of the net when the Bulldogs defeated Weston High, 4-0 on Oct. 26.

Rob Zeiser had two assists, and Edgard Martinez and Justin Lewis added helpers for Bunnell (9-6).

Sebastian Tamayo made 12 saves to record the shutout.

Zurita and Lewis scored two goals and Freddy Metellus had two assists to lead the Bulldogs to a 5-1 victory over Wolcott High on Oct. 21.

Zeiser had a goal and Martinez, James Gillespie and Montalvo had helpers.

Bunnell volleyball

Alisha Beeman led the attack with 12 kills when the Lady Bulldogs went to Milford and returned home with a 3-0 victory over Lauralton Hall on Oct. 21.

Jane Kmec had 18 assists and Alyssa Jones six digs.

Bunnell improved to 12-5 overall and 11-2 in the SWC with a 3-0 victory over Notre Dame on Oct. 26.

Erynn Miller had nine kills, Beeman seven and Isenede Milfort six.

Bunnell swept Kolbe Cathedral on Oct. 23.

Jones again paced the defense with Monique Steadman and Beeman leading the hitters.

Bunnell girls soccer

Chelsea Boursiquot scored a goal in each half and Laura Collins made seven saves when the Lady Bulldogs defeated Newtown, 2-0, on Oct. 23.

Katie Krajcik had an assist for Bunnell (7-7-1).
