Pups without Partners will be taking Santa Photos on Dec. 18 from 1-4 p.m. at Silverman’s Farm, 451 Sport Hill Road in Easton. Each picture costs $5 and comes with a mailable holiday card.

Photography is done by Eliza Nardone Photography.

The greyhound rescue group, formerly located at the Shoreline Star Racetrack in Bridgeport, is a nonprofit actively involved in matching retired racers with adoptive families. For more information, visit the Web site at pupswithoutpartners.org

Pups Without Partners in association with The Greater New Haven Cat Project, Guardians of Rescue, Sarah Inc. and the Dr. Liubi Animal Wellness Fund will present a beer-tasting party to celebrate the life of Dr. Liubi Tosici

The rescue community lost its beloved veterinarian, “Dr. T,” a man who dedicated his life to animals and helping people learn the proper care of their pets on April 7, 2010.

Pups Without Partners is presenting a wine tasting and greyhound fashion show on Sunday, Aug. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Booth Memorial Park, 5774 Main St. Putney, Stratford.

Zwart wants public to know: Greyhounds are ‘greyt’

Penny Zwart would like to leave this world with the satisfaction of having rescued 100,000 greyhounds.

She acknowledges it might be an unreachable goal in the context of the changing world of greyhound racing.

Adoptions have become much costlier and difficult since her previous employer, the Shoreline Star, closed its greyhound park in 2004.

Dogs rescued from a puppy mill in Wisconsin will be up for adoption this Sunday during a fund-raiser event to help homeless pets at TLC Kennels, 40 Oliver Terrace, Shelton.
