Bridgeport bakeries win awards in Great Cake Bake Off

Luigi’s Italian Pastry & Wedding Cake Center and Del Prete Italian Pastry won an award for “Best Cake Texture” and “Best Filling,” respectively, in Connecticut Beardsley Zoo’s Great Cake Bake Off. Eight regional bakeries worked to bake their wildest creations, which were judged by the Twice Baked Twins during the zoo’s 90th birthday celebration on May 19.
