Community Helpers storytime set at Mark Twain Library

The Mark Twain Library will be hosting a Community Helpers story time series during October. Children ages 3 to 8 are invited to visit the library on Oct. 3, 10, 17, and 24 at 10:30 a.m. and listen to a community helper read stories, answer questions, and give a tour of his or her vehicle.

Officer Anthony Signore of the Redding Police Department will visit with his police car on Oct. 3. West Redding Fire Chief Joe Miceli is scheduled to bring a fire truck and read on Oct. 10. On Oct. 17, Emergency Medical Technician Jane Stern will be on board with an ambulance. Finally, Larry Kuloweic, manager of the Redding Recycling and Transfer Station, will talk about trash and recycling on Oct. 24 and children can see how a garbage truck works.

Registration is required for all the story times. Visit the library to sign up, call 938-2545, or go to the library’s Web site, www.marktwainlibrary.org.
