Alexis Babini, formerly of Easton and a Joel Barlow High School graduate, will perform on Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Acoustic Cafe in Bridgeport at 7:45 p.m. Tickets are $7.
The singer-songwriter recently shared the stage with Boz Scaggs and Blues Traveler at the Ridgefield Playhouse, and Richie Furay (of Buffalo Springfield) at the Fairfield Theatre. Mr. Babini incorporates a diverse blend of contemporary pop/rock with an occasional nod to folk classics, earning comparisons from James Taylor to David Gray.
His debut EP “Breaking It In” was released in March. His music is available for download at iTunes, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody, Napster, eMusic, IMVU, Lala, Shockhound, and Amie Street. His CD is also available at his live shows. Songs from the new release are being previewed on his MySpace page, www.myspace.com/alexisbabini.He is recording material for his next release with another graduate from Berklee College of Music, from which he graduated in 2008. He won the Berklee Performer/Songwriter Award and was selected as the “Next Big Thing” on alternativaddiction.com. He made the cover story for Fra Noi Magazine.
In July, Mr. Babini partnered with Hob Nob wines and will be releasing new and exclusive music every quarter through their Creative Juices Web site.
