Club seeks donations for Pajama Program

Redding Neighbors & Newcomers Club invites Reddingites to participate in supporting a non-profit charity called the Pajama Program. This program provides new pajamas and new books to needy children across the country, many of whom are waiting and hoping to be adopted. The idea behind the Pajama Program is to create a warm and nurturing bedtime environment for vulnerable children living under difficult circumstances.

“The club asks for the community’s help to make the cold winter months for these less fortunate children a bit cozier,” it said in its release.

Donations of new pajamas for kids, ages infant to 17 years (sizes infant to adult extra-extra-extra-large) or new books will be accepted at the Redding Community Center from Nov. 6 through Dec. 6. The donation box can be found in the main lobby outside of the community room.

On Dec. 5 and 6, the box will be moved to the upstairs level of the elevator lobby above the gym. Once all items have been collected, the club will bring the donations to the local chapter of the Pajama Program.

Monetary donations are also welcomed. Financial donations are tax deductible and checks should be payable to “Pajama Program.”
