While the leaves overhead are still turning red, December may seem like a ways away. But organizers of the 37th annual Mark Twain Library Art Show Champagne Preview Gala are definitely “seeing red” — in a good way — as they gear up for this year’s fete, with the theme “Paint The Town Red-ding!”
This signature event will be held on Friday evening, Dec. 4. Invitations have been mailed to all of the current “Friends” of the Library — those who have supported the Library’s Annual Appeal this year. The deadline to respond is Nov. 13. Those who have not received an invitation and are interested in attending the Art Show preview party should call the library at 938-2545 for information on joining as a “Friend.”The chairman of the Art Show this year, Pam Robey, is “hopeful” that this particularly colorful tagline will attract many varieties on the theme.
“From décor for the party, to suggested attire, perhaps even to some of the artists’ renderings, red will certainly be the color of the season, and we hope Redding will have fun with it,” Ms. Robey said.
