Barlow’s lacrosse team hosts fund-raiser for Wounded Warrior Project

Members of the Joel Barlow High School Boys lacrosse team will be playing in the Sticks for Soldiers tournament at Fairfield Ludlowe High School on Saturday, Nov. 28. This year’s tournament will once again benefit war-injured troops through the Wounded Warrior Project.

The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower wounded warriors. Among other things, this project provides direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members.

Jean Tompkins, who is coordinating the event for the Barlow Boys Lacrosse Booster Club, said the boys “wanted to go a step beyond playing in the tournament by helping to bring awareness to this great cause which provides wonderful services to U.S. veterans.” As a result, they are now collecting donations for the Wounded Warrior Project

All donations will be collected and one check from the Boys Barlow Lacrosse Team will be donated at the end of the fund-raiser, with 100% of donations going to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Anyone wishing to donate to the Wounded Warrior Project may send a check to JBHS, 100 Black Rock Turnpike, Redding CT 06896. Make checks payable to JBHS and in the memo section write: Wounded Warrior Project.
