Area magnet school is accepting applications

Western Connecticut Academy for International Studies Magnet School has announced that it is accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year.

Redding residents with children who will be entering grades kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome to apply. The application deadline is Jan. 22 with a lottery drawing taking place on Feb. 4.

Application/information packets are available in the Redding Elementary School main office or on the Central Office Web site at www.er9.org.

An information session will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the John Read Middle School library/reading room.
