For his Eagle rank: Degener's project benefits town park

Liam Degener, a Redding Boy Scout, repaired and installed many enhancements to Topstone Park for his Boy Scout Eagle Community Service project.

Liam added hand-made signs around all of the park trails and at the entrance, making trail hiking safer and navigable for resident hikers. He also designed, built, and installed a new foot bridge over the brook on the park’s pond trail. Additionally he installed a map box with updated maps at the entrance.

All of the materials Liam used were donated by Ridgefield Lumber Supply, DeLuca Hardware and the Woodworkers Club of Westport. He had lots of help completing his project from volunteers recruited from local Boy Scout Troop 15, and other Redding residents.
