Garden Club has funds for student scholarships

The Redding Garden Club has funds available for high school seniors, current college students and adult learners who plan to study in the areas of horticulture, agriculture, landscape design, biology, environmental studies and other areas related to the interests of the club.

Robert Cieri of Orchard Drive was the 2008-09 scholarship recipient. He is currently a junior attending Duke University in Durham, N.C. where he is studying biology and evolutionary anthropology. He also volunteers in the biology lab where he has assisted in the care and study of songbirds. The son of Robert and Mary Pat Cieri, he is a 2007 graduate of Joel Barlow High School.
