Seminar on cost of aging is set

“The Cost of Aging: Who Pays and How” will be the subject of a seminar at the Redding Community Center on Thursday, March 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The seminar offers knowledge and practical tools to make sound decisions about the future. It covers a broad range of topics, including the cost of home care and the coordination of essential services; VA benefits, legal and financial strategies for asset preservation and wealth transfer, financing options to stay at home, how to maximize the value of one’s home, cost of long-term care, assisted living, and changes in probate and conservatorship.

“Quality Living at Home,” a new program from Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association, is co-sponsoring this program with the Redding Commission On Aging and other professionals in finance, home and health care fields. First Selectman Ketcham will introduce the program and Redding professionals, such as Probate Judge Richard Emerson and Dr. Rosalind Kopfstein, who chairs the Commission on Aging, will speak.

Quality Living at Home is a program exclusively offered by the Ridgefield VNA. This program has been created to empower individuals of all ages to remain in their homes in a safe, healthy and socially connected environment, the VNA said in a release. The program has been launched in Ridgefield and is slated for Redding later this year.

Space for the seminar is limited. Reserve a place by calling the Ridgefield VNA Quality of Living at Home at 203-48-5555, ext. 1005. Light refreshments will be served.
