Girl Scouts honor Vigneault

Masako Vigneault of Redding received the prestigious Girl Scout Thanks Badge and her 40-Year Membership Pin during an awards ceremony at Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s Annual Meeting on May 4.

A national recognition for Girl Scouts, the Thanks Badge is awarded to a volunteer for outstanding service significantly above the expected performance that benefits the total Girl Scout Council.

Ms. Vigneault is “a devoted” volunteer service unit manager and council trainer for Girl Scouts of Connecticut, the organization said in its release. She helps with Girls R.U.L.E., an anti-bullying and conflict resolution program. As a trained First Aid/CPR instructor, Ms. Vigneault delivers life-saving courses to girls, volunteers and Girl Scouts of Connecticut staff around the state.

“Masako is truly an inspiring Girl Scout volunteer with a deep commitment to building girls of courage, confidence and character. Her exemplary leadership has helped Girl Scouts in Connecticut gain the lifetime skills they need to discover their personal best; connect with others to build healthy relationships; and take action in their communities to make the world a better place,” the organization said.
