Singers sought for Camerata d’Amici

Local choral group Camerata d’Amici, directed by Redding resident Kristin Sponheim, is seeking new members for all voice parts for the 2010-11 season, which begins Sept. 9. Rehearsals take place Thursday evenings at the South Salem Presbyterian church from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Formed in 2006 and directed by Dr. Sponheim, Camerata d’Amici is a group of more than 40 auditioned singers from Fairfield and Westchester counties. Its repertoire features a wide range of choral music, both sacred and secular, and from many cultures. The 2010-11 season will include three public performances: a Christmas concert, a midwinter performance and a year-end spring concert in May.

“Camerata d’Amici is always delighted to welcome new singers to our group,” Dr. Sponheim said. “We enjoy making music together and communicating the music to our audiences.”
