A fun-filled Canine Competition will be held on the beach at Topstone Park on Sunday, Sept. 19, from 10 to 1. All ages are invited to bring the family dog to participate in both competitive and non-competitive events such as Tennis Ball Lottery, the Great Lick Off, Dress Up Relay, Snoopy Says, Fetch and Drop, as well as Dock Diving. Prizes and giveaways will be awarded.
Veterinarians Dr. Phil Bolton and Dr. Lauren Sawchyn will be on site during the competitions and the events coordinator will be Mary Fennerty, dog trainer and proprietor of Peace on A Leash.
All dogs must be on leashes, except during specific events, and rabies tags are required for entry. Aggressive dogs should not be part of the competition. Participants are asked to bring along waste bags.
Registration is required by Sept. 10 at the Redding Park and Recreation office with a $20 entry fee, as space will be limited to 25 dogs.
For more information, call 203-938-2551 or visit townofreddingct.org.
Canine Competition is made possible with the support of sponsors Ridgefield Pet, Redding Veterinary Hospital, Pahquiquoe Rod and Gun Club, Cogolulu Café, Stitchin’ Post, J&J Computer Works, and Auntie Gs. BBQ & Deli.
