I attended 45, or 90%. That includes flying several times from Florida to home at my own expense. If elected to the Board of Finance I will continue that practice. I am disappointed that my opponent Rand Guffey’s name is associated with these “attendance” issues rather than with the financial issues which are so important to our future.
Newly published information indicates that unless we return the town to financial health, and keep it that way, it will be difficult to fund our capital needs. These include school ventilation, bridges, overdue field work and roads. According to The Redding Pilot these capital needs could exceed $23,000,000. Unfortunately, the entrenched majority on the Board of Finance made significant funding mistakes that delayed some of the most critical projects. These delays continue.
I’m challenging this entrenched majority. I have made tough decisions on spending requests and revenue projections for years. As a program director at Yale School of Medicine, my running mate Dr. Kimberly Yonkers knows how to maximize the use of scarce resources Our Web site www.kimpeterbof09.org provides details on our positions. Let’s restore checks and balances to town government.
