Mazzucco: Finance board

Soon, voters will be asked to choose three candidates for the Board of Finance. Certain candidates focus on how they would have recognized and resolved the town’s economic challenges of the past. However, those candidates should not get credit merely for having hindsight. Problems that faced the town a few years ago will never present themselves again in exactly the same way. Thus, I respectfully suggest that voters should consider which candidates are best able to face the unexpected issues of the future.

I have resided in Redding more than 20 years. I have been active in town government for much of that time. I have actively supported Redding schools, which my three children attended. I have practiced business and real estate law in the area more than 30 years. I have the education, experience, and dedication to contribute to the Board of Finance, and I hope the voters will give me that opportunity.

Mr. Mazzucco is a Republican.
