O’Donnell: Town treasurer

As the incumbent candidate for the office of treasurer of the town of Redding, I would like to thank the voters of Redding for allowing me to serve for eight years. I am seeking to serve two more years as your treasurer. I appreciate the confidence that the citizens have shown in my work so far, and pledge to continue to earn their trust.

In the last eight years I have worked to streamline the management of town funds while assuring that each dollar is invested safely and to its maximum potential. My work takes me to the Central Office to coordinate payment of school bills, to the controller’s office to handle payment of town bills and to the offices of our bankers and advisors to be sure that our cash is safely invested and our debt is properly managed.

I also chair the Long Range Financial Planning committee of the town. This committee is charged with looking at the long-term financial needs of the town and coordinating those needs with the town’s tax structure. The goal is to lessen the tax burden by careful planning.

I see all these roles continuing in the next two years as the treasurer’s office works to keep the town humming along. I ask for your vote on Nov. 3 so that I can continue in this important and responsible position.

Ms. O’Donnell is a Democrat.
