Stripp endorses Egan

State Rep. John Stripp (R-135) has endorsed Joe Egan, Ridgefield’s probate judge, as his choice in the Aug. 10. Republican Primary. Three Republican candidates are seeking the party’s nod to be the candidate for the new consolidated probate district.

“The position of probate judge is a substantive one that can have a major effect on you and your family, so qualifications do matter,” said Mr. Stripp in a release.

“Joe Egan has been an attorney for 39 years and a judge for 20. In addition to Ridgefield, he has sat in many other courts and has been a backup judge in Norwalk for many years. This has enabled him to learn first hand how a larger court functions.”

In addition to his judicial duties, Judge Egan is a member of the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Probate Assembly and is one of only two Connecticut judges to have been the president of the National College of Probate Judges, Mr. Stripp said.

“Joe Egan is clearly the most qualified candidate to lead the new court,” he added.
