There are only a limited number of tickets available for the Redding only showing of Old Dogs on Sunday, Dec. 6, at Loews Theatre in Danbury at 2. Some scenes from the Disney movie were filmed in Redding.
More than 200 tickets have already been sold, said Anita Arnold, the first selectman’s executive assistant. The last day to buy tickets, which are only available through the first selectman’s office, is Nov. 30.Ms. Arnold has organized this special showing of the movie for Redding residents, their family and friends and town employees. Those who have reserved tickets but have not paid for them should do so because there is no reservation until the tickets are paid for, she said.
Tickets are being sold for $10 on a first come, first served basis. People will find an online form at the town’s Web site: www.townofreddingct.org to reserve tickets. Tickets must be paid for in advance and may be picked up at town hall between Nov. 16 and Nov. 30.
“We will be meeting as a group at Loews. Look for a Redding Cinema sign,” said Ms. Arnold.
This movie is rate PG so children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
This Walt Disney movie, which stars John Travolta and Robin Williams, is being released this Thanksgiving. Several scenes were shot in Redding during the summer 2007. Redding’s Community Center may not be recognizable because it was turned into a women’s prison and the Community Room there into a cafeteria in the prison.
Other scenes were shot at Putnam Park and at the Redding Country Club. And there was a chase scene on Route 107.
