Unaffiliated voters have time to enroll in a party for primary

Unaffiliated voters still have time to enroll in a party and vote in its Aug. 10 primary. If you are currently enrolled in a political party, you may vote in that party’s primary. It is too late to change parties and be eligible to vote in your new party’s primary.

If you are an unaffiliated voter, you must enroll in a party by Monday, Aug. 9, by noon, to vote in that party’s primary.

The registrars are in their town hall office Monday and Thursday from 9 to noon. People can also enroll in a party at the town clerk’s office, which is open Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 to 5:30 and on Thursday from 8:30 to 6.

For those who are not registered voters, the last day to register and be eligible to vote in the Aug. 10 primary is Thursday, Aug. 5, by mail or Monday, Aug. 9, by noon in person.
