Seasonal flu shots available at polls today

The seasonal flu vaccine shot will be available in limited amounts today at the Ridgefield VNA Vote and Vax clinics at all three polling locations until 2 p.m.

The RVNA ran out of the seasonal flu shots about three weeks ago but received a shipment of about 1,000 doses Friday, Oct. 30, Sandy Weinberg of the RVNA said.

The Vote and Vax clinics are today at East Ridge Middle School, Scotts Ridge Middle School and Yanity Gymnasium.

Ms. Weinberg said that about 50 doses were sent out to each school today and since so many people had been waiting to receive the vaccine, many of the shots were already spoken for.

“If there is any left after today they will be available at our regularly scheduled public clinics, where we’ve been offering the flu mist vaccine,” Ms. Weinberg said.

Ms. Weinberg said the RVNA is expecting to receive a shipment of H1N1 vaccine today. If the shipment comes, the RVNA will announce clinics and be taking appointments soon. The RVNA has set up an H1N1 appointment line at 431-2567.
