Edith Califano Dagostino of Ridgefield, a longtime resident, died today, Friday, Nov. 20. She was 93 years old and the widow of Frank Dagostino and Joseph Califano.

Frank A. Puccini, Jr. of Beaufort, S.C., a former Ridgefield volunteer firefighter who was active in the community, died on Friday, Nov. 6. He was the husband of Sharon L. Puccini, former Democratic registrar of voters.

Word has been received of the death of Dorothy Baxter Ferris of Tavares, Fla., a Ridgefield native who was a descendant of the founder of The Press. She died on Sept. 9 due to complications from a stroke she suffered in 2008 and was 93 years old.

Michael A. Hagan of Ridgefield, a Realtor and former town official who was active in many facets of the community, died Sunday, Nov. 8, at his home with his wife, Mary Rogers Hagan, at his side. He was 88 years old.

   

Gregory Barton, 43, RHS 1984, fought cystic fibrosis

Gregory S. Barton of South Glastonbury, who grew up in Ridgefield, died Nov. 4 at Hartford Hospital. He was 43 years old. Mr. Barton fought a life-long battle with cystic fibrosis, which had claimed the life of his sister, Cheryl, in 1981. He received a double lung transplant in July 2006.
