A lifelong passion for sewing, together with some creative brainstorming, provided the inspiration for Diane DeSerio to launch a new business, “Fabrications” from her Ridgefield home. Her innovative ideas about in-demand styles and experimentation with materials led this “crafty woman” into new territory.

Ms. DeSerio will show her line of athletic-themed accessories, including key chains, watchbands and belts, at the Ridgefield Woman’s Club Craft Fair on Nov. 21 at East Ridge Middle School from 10 to 4.

Ms. DeSerio learned to sew as a child in Brooklyn, making some of her own clothing, and continued that skill when she moved to Ridgefield some 20 years ago. She also made custom window treatments for local clients, while working in various offices by day.
