Troop 76 has new scoutmaster who's an old scoutmaster

Bob Keyes recently became the new scoutmaster of Boy Scouts Troop 76, succeeding Bruce Bowlus who served for three years.

Mr. Keyes, an Eagle Scout with distinction from Port Washington, N.Y., previously was scoutmaster of Troop 76 from 1992-1995 and also served as assistant scoutmaster.

For his “extraordinary service to the troop,” Mr. Bowlus received the Scoutmaster Key from the Yankee Connecticut Council.

He became assistant scoutmaster of Troop 76 in 2004 after moving to Ridgefield and was named scoutmaster in 2006.

Troop 76 (troop76.org) is sponsored by Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church and meets Tuesday evenings at 7:30 in Martin Hall at the church.
