Cross country: RHS girls sixth, boys seventh at states

The Ridgefield High girls cross country team finished sixth and the boys were seventh at Saturday's Class LL state championships at Wickham Park in Manchester.

The RHS girls had 173 points, seven more than fifth-place Cheshire. Norwich Free Academy was first with 94 points.

Katie Howley led Ridgefield with a ninth-place overall finish in a time of 20:36.

The Ridgefield boys were seventh with 160 points. Xavier won the Class LL title with 64 points.

Richie Hume was sixth overall in 17:00 to lead the Tigers.
