Girls volleyball: RHS has playoff opener Tuesday

The Ridgefield High girls volleyball team opens the post-season with an FCIAC quarterfinal match Tuesday against Staples in Westport at 4.

Staples is seeded fourth and Ridgefield fifth in the eight-team field.

Both teams went 15-3 during the regular season, but Staples defeated the Tigers, 3-2, head-to-head to win the tiebreaker and get the home match.

Ridgefield ended the regular season with a 3-0 loss to unbeaten Darien last Friday.
