Top-seed Staples scored twice in each half and went on to beat the Ridgefield High boys soccer team, 4-1, in the FCIAC championship game Wednesday night in Norwalk.
Ridgefield, the second seed, trailed 2-0 before Pedro Rodrigues scored late in the first half to cut Staples' lead in half.
But the Wreckers scored the only two goals of the second half to win their second straight conference championship and 26th overall.The Tigers dropped to 13-4-1 with the loss.
Staples had beaten Ridgefield, 2-0, during the regular season.
