Middle school bands from Weston do battle

Kids4Kids is sponsoring its next fund-raiser on Nov. 6 to benefit Peaceworks, the prevention education project of the Domestic Violence Crisis Center serving the communities of Stamford, Norwalk, Westport, Darien, New Canaan, Wilton and Weston.

This fund-raiser,“Don’t Stop the Music,” is a family-friendly middle school rock band competition and is scheduled to take place at Toquet Hall, 58 Post Road East, Westport, on Nov. 6, 7 to 10 p.m.

Participating bands include Caught Looking, Disconnect, Harms Way and Weston bands Smashing Heads (Claudia Hason, Daniel Fishkind, Jonathan Dumitru) and Sunburst (Steve Friedman, Luca Kupper, Malcolm McClintock, Josh Malett, Zach Malett).

The evening will be capped with a special performance by The Paul Green School of Rock House Band.

Kids4Kids is the fund-raising brainchild of Barbara Gross, Weston mom and granny, designed to involve kids in planning and executing clever and engaging fund-raising activities to benefit other local kids in need.

Tickets are $15 and are available in advance from Barbara Gross, 227-4120, or at the door at Toquet Hall.
