A shaky start did not rattle the Weston High girls basketball team in the first round of the state Class M tournament last week.

Hosting New Fairfield on Tuesday, March 2, the 14th-seeded Trojans appeared to be headed for trouble with a first quarter deficit. As time went on their dominance under the basket began to play a big role in turning the tables on their opponent for a 45-37 win.

The victory was Weston’s first in a state tournament game since 1996, when it made the semifinals of Class S.
