The Miller-Driscoll Schools’ Scholastic Book Fair will be open daily on Thursday, Nov. 19, Friday, Nov. 20, and Monday, Nov. 23, from 8 to 4; and on Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 8 to 2. A special family event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will take place in the Driscoll gymnasium at 336 Belden Hill Road.

Giving and Receiving — Healing Loss During the Holidays, Thursday, Nov. 19, 4 to 5:30, Wilton Library. This workshop, led by Rev. Karen S. Judd, Interfaith minister, is designed to help people deal with their loss through lecture and experiential exercises. All who grieve any type of loss are invited. Provided by Mid-Fairfield Hospice. Weir Farm Artist-in-Residence Exhibition/Reception: Tara Kelton, Thursday, Nov. 19, 6-7:30 p.m., Wilton Library. November brings Tara Kelton to the Weir Farm artist in residency program. She is an Indian-American artist and designer who recently completed her master’s degree at the Yale School of Art. Have Your Cake and Read It Too!, Thursday, Nov. 19, 6:30-7:30 p.m., Wilton Library. Join Wilton Library’s Kids’ Book Club for children in grades three and up; dessert will be served and adults will be included. Children and their adults will read the book selection and then join the discussion. This month’s book is Good Masters! Sweet Ladies!: Voices from a Medieval Village by Laura Amy Schlitz. “Where the Wild Things Are” Wild Rumpus, Friday, Nov. 20, 4–4:45 p.m., Wilton Library. Children in grades K-2 are invited to get wild at the library in celebration of the new movie, Where the Wild Things Are, based on the classic tale by Maurice Sendak. Wilton Post Office employees to conduct yearly food drive on Saturday, Nov. 21. Postal customers are asked to leave nonpersishable items in and around their mailboxes for mail carriers to pick up. Food donations may also be dropped off at the post office lobby on Friday and Saturday. The food will be distributed to Christian Community Action in Norwalk and the Wilton Social Services’ food pantry.

El Grupo de Niños (Spanish Story Time), Saturday, Nov. 21 and 28, 11 - 11:45 a.m., Wilton Library. Children ages 5 -7 are invited to join this weekly Spanish story time in November. Activities will include book reading, songs, short videos, games, and more. Spanish students from Wilton High School will assist. Caretakers must remain in the building. Zion’s Hill United Methodist Church’s Service of Celebration, Sunday, Nov. 22, to mark the church’s 165th anniversary. The worship service begins at 10 a.m. at the church at 470 Danbury Road. There will be music, a special guest, Carl Kohn, a former pastor, and a specially baked birthday cake. Zion’s Hill welcomes its new pastor, Stephen Goldstein and his wife, Pam, to the parish. Parishioners invite anyone interested to attend the service and celebration.

Turkey Shoot, target shooting competition sponsored by Georgetown Lions Club, Sunday, Nov. 22, 1 to 3 at the Lions Ball Field at Route 7 and Old Mill Road. Participants have the chance to win a gift certificate for the purchase of a turkey, with proceeds going to charities. Information: 544-9977.

The Grapes of Wrath: Book Discussion with Bill Ziegler, Thursday, Dec. 3, 10:30 - noon, Wilton Library. Bill Ziegler leads a discussion of John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath. On Thursday, Dec. 10, the approximately two-hour film will be shown in the Brubeck Room from 11 to noon and from 1 to 2 p.m., with a break for lunch between viewings. Holiday Spectacular, presented by The Walter Schalk School of Dance and The Wilton Bank, Saturday, Dec. 12, at 2, and Sunday, Dec. 13 at 2 and 6, Wilton High School auditiorium. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for sutdents.
