Tina Gardner: Experience, integrity

As your Wilton Republican registrar of voters since 1997, I have managed the election and town meeting voting process. For over a decade our nonpartisan office has assisted several thousand Wilton citizens in registering with the party of their choice or as unaffiliated voters. I am very familiar with the requirements of the state statutes and adhere to them when responding to requests from all parties (Republican, Democratic, or other) for the data to carry out their election campaign efforts. The relationships I have with the Office of the Secretary of the State of Connecticut and the other registrars statewide have given me a vast resource network to draw from during complex elections and redistricting activities.

Redistricting takes place every 10 years, after the census results have been tabulated. This process will occur again during the next term. I am well qualified to perform this important task for Wilton’s citizens since I administered it 10 years ago. I am presently the secretary of the Registrars of Voters Association of Connecticut (ROVAC), which allows me even more opportunities to work closely with the other registrars to assure smooth redistricting.

I served on the Republican Town Committee, including eight years as secretary. I became interested in the voting process because I feel strongly that it is the right of every citizen, no matter what party, inclination, or belief, to exercise their voting rights with proper safeguards and protections.

If I am re-elected your Republican registrar, I pledge to continue to support the citizens of Wilton with the professionalism, honesty, and integrity that have been the cornerstone of my past service to our community.
