Paul Kitt, Sr. of Bethel, whose maintenance company served several Wilton businesses for many years, died on Thursday, Oct.15, at his home. He was the husband of Dorothy A. (Pierce) Kitt and was 72.Mr. Kitt was born May 30, 1937, in Manning, S.C, the son of the late Sidney and Mattie (Epps) Kitt. He relocated to Norwalk in the late 1950’s, and after 13 years of hard work, started his own business, Paul’s Waxing Service.
Mr. Kitt was a member of the Community Baptist Church in New Canaan, where he actively served in the Senior Choir, Seniors Usher Ministry, Mens Group, Trustee Committee, Male Chorus, and Deacon Ministry. He enjoyed gardening in his spare time.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son: Paul Kitt Jr. and his wife Tina of New Haven, three daughters: Sheila and Marlo Kitt, both of Youngstown, Ohio, and Tracey Kitt of Niles, Ohio, one sister: Lucille Kitt of New York, one uncle: Matthew Epps Sr of Alcohn, S.C., one step-son: James Tate of Bridgeport, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Paul was predeceased by three brothers, two sisters, and one step-daughter. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were on Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Green Funeral Home in Danbury. Burial was in the Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
