Adele Giordano, 84, mother of resident

Adele C. Giordano, a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., died on Friday, Oct. 30, at Norwalk Hospital. She was the mother of Joanne Fusco of Wilton and 84 years old.

 

Born in Brooklyn, the daughter of the late Frank and Adele (Provenza) DeRosa, she was the wife of the late John J. Giordano. A beloved teacher, formerly known as Miss DeRosa, she had worked in Bensonhurst and Bay Ridge at P.S. 201 and P.S. 102, her family said. She was a woman filled with love, especially for her family, her church, and her community, they said. A lover of the arts, she found great joy in playing the piano. In her later years she had volunteered at Victory Memorial Hospital and enjoyed participating in the Garden Club, they said, and she was a woman of deep faith and was a parishioner of St. Anselm Church.

She is survived by her five children: Maria Glatter and her husband Gary, Charles Giordano and his wife Sarah, Jean Tanenbaum and her husband Mark, Joanne Fusco and her husband Dominick, and Paul Giordano and his wife Maria; 10 grandchildren; and her brother Frank DeRosa and his wife Liliane.

Her family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 6, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Magner Funeral Home in Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Wilton, with burial to follow at Calverton National Cemetery, L.I., N.Y.
