The Wilton High field hockey team closed out the regular season on Tuesday night with a 4-0 win at Norwalk.
The Warriors (10-3-1) clinched the fourth seed in the FCIAC playoffs with the win and will host the fifth-seeded Bears on Friday in the quarterfinals. Game time is tentatively set at 3:30.
The Warriors took a 2-0 halftime lead on Tuesday, on goals by Daisy Hanna (Sheridan Finnie assist) and Amy Drummond (Julianne Tangney assist).Sheridan scored again in the second half to make it 3-0, and Danielle Noonan closed out the scoring on a deflection off a shot by Tangney.
Wilton finished with an 11-6 edge in shots, and had five penalty corners to Norwalk’s six.
Steph Fricke made six saves in goal for Wilton.
The Warriors were coming off a 1-0 loss to Ridgefield last Thursday, with the Tigers scoring the game’s only goal with 7:15 left in the first half.
Wilton had an 11-4 advantage in penalty corners, and 6-2 edge in shots, but couldn’t put the ball into the cage.
Fricke had one save in goal.
