Opened in 2002, Lakeside Pottery is a professional ceramics studio and school in Stamford, home to beginning students as well as accomplished ceramic artists. The studio is fully equipped with 10 pottery wheels, an area and equipment for sculpture and handbuilding, a large selection of glazes and a kiln that is always running. The four teachers are experienced ceramic artists; their work is displayed for both inspiration and purchases. The school offers morning and evening adult classes for all skill levels, Monday through Saturday. There are eight-week children’s programs for ages 7 to 12 during the school year and weekly children’s summer camp for ages 7-15. Private lessons, birthday parties, group and corporate team building workshops may be scheduled. Monitored open studio hours may be purchased for $15 an hour by students and artists who wish to work independently without instruction. Lakeside Pottery is at 543 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, on the corner of Fairland Street, reeached from High Ridge Road via Vine Road. Turn onto Fairland Street for parking at the rear of the building.
