The new Children’s Museum that opened this spring in Trumbull is a place for trying out new things and working with familiar materials. From a farmer’s market to a fire station to a restaurant to a construction zone, exhibits offer children the chance to delve into how things work and what people do in their daily lives. There are 20 interactive exhibits that also include topics such as The Old West, Medieval Times, Old World Ships, Kids on Stage, Gone Fishing, Let’s Get Physical, Nana’s Attic, Busy Brains, Busy Bodies, Pre-Historic Times. The Children’s Museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 to 5 and Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 6 (closed Mondays for school trips). Admission is $9, except babies under one; Tuesdays are Grandparents Free days. There’s space to have a lunch brought from home and also vending machines for those who want a snack. There are classes for youngsters and the museum is available to rent.
