Impressionists’ retreat

The Historical Society of the Town of Greenwich has its headquarters at the Bush-Holley Historic Site, where the early members of the Greenwich Art Society who made up the Cos Cob Art Colony of Impressionists gathered. The Bush-Holley site also includes the National Historic Landmark Bush-Holley House and related buildings. In addition to permanent exhibits, the Bush-Holley Site includes a special exhibition in the Visitors Center, which currently is Cherishing Our Past: Preserving Greenwich History, which will remain on exhibit through June 30. Special exhibits general feature some aspect of the art and artists of the Cos Cob Colony. Hours are Tuesday to Sunday, noon to 4. Admission to the currrent exhibition and guided tours of the Bush-Holley House are $6 for adults, $4 for students and seniors. Children six and under are admitted free. Tours are offered at 12:15, 1:15, 2:15 and 3:15. There is a museum shop in the visitors center which has books, toys, games, maps and gifts.
