Bellamy-Ferriday House

The Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden, a property of the Antiquarian and Landmarks Society, is set in the center of Bethlehem at 9 Main Street North on property that includes a formal parterre garden, a historic apple orchard and several 18th Century outbuildings. The garden features collections of peonies, lilacs and roses as well as hundreds of perennials and shrubs. The 1754 house museum tells the story of the first and last owners of the property, The Rev. Joseph Bellamy and Caroline Woolsey Ferriday. Mr. Bellamy was the first minister in Bethlehem and Mrs. Ferriday was a humanitarian of diverse interests. The Bellamy-Ferriday House also features an exhibit that focuses on the evolution of the property from a working farm to a formal landscape. There are monthly Garden Walks, and the site is open to the public for tours from 11 to 4 on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, May through October. Admission is $5 per adult (grounds only, $3) and $2 per child under age 18.
